tea party

this session is the final in our three session package. see her at 6 months here. and her newborn pictures here.
i have loved every minute i get to spend with this family. i wanted to take her home after watching her stir her tea with a tiny teaspoon :) her mom has a love of all things meaningful and every prop has a story that i know lucy will appreciate when she gets older. and an early happy father's day to patrick. a dad that sits on the steps at the nelson and pretends to drink tea from tiny teacups with his daughter gets applause from me!

a gracious beginning

on my first photo shoot after having a baby-i tried so hard to have everything ready.

feed the baby
get bottles ready
memory cards
camera and lenses
blankets
charge the battery...
drive to olathe
then realize i left the battery on the charger at home
try not to cry
super gracious family makes me feel loved and accepted
drive home to get battery
back to olathe
awesome photo shoot with amazing family and precious newborn.

so the big lesson is...
make sure your first session back from maternity leave is with a family that is laid back and understanding of any sleep deprivation craziness that may happen :)

i was able to photograph this beautiful family while they were still just waiting for this sweet girl to arrive-here

(ben) and i went to visit this new family of four. it was wonderful evening with amazing thai food and lots of baby holding.

nadia and i were roommates in collage and now we have babies that are one week apart-i treasure all the time we are able to spend together-sharing in the joys and difficulties of being a mom.
