the thicket

this family has a special place in my heart-and i just can't get enough of those eyes and those cheeks :)

we went on a grand adventure to a little piece of woods (trying to find some good light in the middle of the day)

one of my favorite parts was when bella said "this is kind of like a thicket" we then went on to have a fabulous conversation about thickets. a 4 1/2 year old who talks about thickets. love it.

the 3 super heros

these kids were so much fun-and i had a great time spending time with them -learning about the new 

he-man show and picking up a few new dance moves :)

we finally had a nice enough day to visit the green space near their house-to try and capture a glimpse of their personalities at this stage. 

margo is dramatic and has lots of initiative.

 adam is a sweetheart and loves to make his sister laugh

 jacob loves to explore everything-sticks, rocks, dirt and he really wanted to jump in the water.

a boy and his bunny

lovely family. lovely evening. a beautiful boy and his bunny. what more can you ask for really?

the wondrous sophie

i've had the pleasure of photographing sophie several times-and it has been such a joy to watch her grow.

for her 4th birthday i was invited to be at the party to help capture the pink, the silly string and sophie telling her friends that she got a "new car for her birthday"

tripp comes home-part 2

this was a day of celebration! the cutting of the arm bands that amy and michael have worn for 35 days felt like a ribbon cutting-an entrance into a new chapter. these 2 could not have been happier and it showed all over their smiling faces. see tripp's video here

the urbanness was so striking to me-

this was the sweetest moment-michael pointing out all the buildings-a true welcome home to his baby boy.

tripp comes home!

today amy and michael brought their baby boy home after 35 long days in the nicu-it was a good day. much more to come-but i just couldn't wait to share a few lovelies :)

a dreamy evening

it was a wonderful experience to get to know this family and this light was just so inspiring-i could spend every evening like this. i really appreciated their tolerance of me putting them in the tall grass-as we fought off ticks and other crawlies-i think it was worth it!

the growing tripp

what a joy to finally meet this little one-and watch his parents love him-they are so gentle and patient and strong. tripp was soaking it all in with wide eyes.

and although the nicu will only be a tiny part of his big story-it is an important part of this family's life right now and i was honored to capture a little piece of it.

i can't wait to document his going home day!
